This Seed aims to develop and study the photothermal conversion properties of carbon-based nanomaterials for the chemical recycling to monomer of commercial polymers. By identifying new carbon-based photothermal agents, they will efficiently depolymerize commercial polymers through visible light irradiation. They will also study the physical property effects of incorporation of these nanomaterials (thermal and visual properties) to explore new plastic formulations that will enable plastics recycling at material end-of-life.
