REU 2024: June 3 to August 2
Eligibility Requirements
1. All applicants must be U.S. Citizens or U.S. Permanent Residents
2. All applicants must be 18 years of age or older
3. All applicants are required to have health insurance coverage for the summer
4. Applicants cannot graduate before the end REU in August (this is an undergraduate program)
5. PCCM REU is open to undergraduate students attending a two-year or four-year accredited college, having completed at least their freshman year before participating in the start of the program: Rising sophomores, rising juniors, and rising seniors should apply.
How do I fill out an application?
When the application process opens in mid-late November 2023, candidates will be able to click a link and register their information using an online form. Data pulled from online registrants will form the REU 2024 applicant pool.
You will need:
- Fill out the online application form.
- Two academic letters of recommendation.
- Official Transcript.
When do I find out if my application was accepted?
Decision letters will be distributed to all applicants. Notifications are planned to be sent by mid-March 2024.
How competitive is the application process, and how many students are accepted each year?
In 2023, approximately 230 applications were submitted, and 10 students were admitted to the program.
Is there a minimum GPA requirement on the application?
There isn’t a minimum GPA requirement for our application.
Sending Transcripts
Applicants are asked to either email their official transcripts through their college secure platform or mail the hard copy to the address provided on the application form.

When describing your research interests in your application, it is important to be explicit about the research areas that interest you. The essay portions of the application are very important. We will then try to find the best match for you and your professor, potential research projects and your research interests.
